Kitchen island
A freestanding central unit: worktop, storage and the family gathering spot.
An island adds worktop, storage and seating while zoning open plans. The hard math: 900–1000 mm clearances all around, so even a small island needs a 3.2 m+ wide kitchen zone; plumbing in the island must run through the screed, decided before rough work. In typical apartments a peninsula often delivers the same functions on half the footprint.
