Niche
A recess in a wall: both functional storage and a decor device.
Niches are recesses built into walls or drywall: shower shelves tiled to match, ceiling curtain recesses 150–200 mm deep so drapes flow from the ceiling, headboard niches with sconces and chargers. Plan them before rough work — cutting them in later is expensive.
