Waterproofing is a continuous polymer coating under bathroom tile — tile and grout alone don't hold water. Standard: the whole wet-zone floor turned 200–300 mm up walls, shower walls to 1.8–2 m, taped corners, two cross layers. One or two days of work that insures you against flooding the neighbors.
